ART 110 - Visual Storytelling- Film & TV - University of Hawaii at Hilo |
This introductory class is meant to teach the
fundamentals of visual storytelling. Instruction will focus
on plot/story arc and character arc with an emphasis on
the basics – Setup, Inciting Incident, Complication, More
Complication, Climax and Conclusion. Different genres
and character archetypes will be explored in detail along
with the importance of tension – both for comedy and
drama. Additionally, different formats of visual
storytelling will be discussed as it related to Film, TV
(both half-hour comedy and one-hour drama) and
Shorts.
