This class is being concurrently taught with CRN 65603, 65668, and 65569. This class is offered in an accelerated format from 08/22 to 09/23/22. The following refund and withdrawal dates apply: August 23, 2022 Last day to receive 100% tuition refund August 29, 2022 Last day to receive 50% tuition refund September 12, 2022 Last day to withdraw from class (“W” on transcript) This class will have scheduled online sessions on the following dates: Monday, August 22, 2022 and Friday, September 23, 2022. This class will have scheduled Saturday field days. In order to participate in the scheduled Saturday field days with the class, the student must be registered for the Hybrid / Online Blend - IN-PERSON SESSIONS sections (CRNs 65603 or 65604). The Hybrid / Online Blend - ONLINE SESSIONS section (see CRNs 65668 & 65669) is recommended for the following students: (1) Students living on O'ahu who will attend lectures and complete service learning project online; and, (2) Neighbor island students who will attend lectures online and complete service learning projects at an approved site on their own island or online. Out-of-state students should not register for this class, as instructor is unable to accommodate an option of field day requirements. Hybrid / Online Blend - IN-PERSON SESSIONS – Students can choose to enroll in the online synchronous class and attend all class sessions online. Or, the student may choose to enroll in the Hybrid section of the course and attend in-person class sessions. All students will have some asynchronous online instruction as well. This class is being taught concurrently with CRN 65603, 65668 & 65669. Service-learning (SL) and community engagement link classroom curriculum to ‘āina-based and culturally appropriate education with hands-on experiential learning opportunities. SL connects real world problem-based learning with a focus on career pathways in order to match the needs of community partners and leads to student success. The SL course designation offers students high quality service learning experiences in their courses with a minimum of 15 hours of service in community, and 5 hours of reflection and/or writing connecting the service with the course curriculum." |
