Spanish (SPAN)

Students who need courses beyond the 101-level should take the free placement exam (https://tinyurl.com/SPAN-UHM)

Spanish 101 is not open to native or heritage Spanish speakers.

All students registered for SPAN 101-202 must attend the first class meeting. Failure to do so without prior consent may result in the assignment of your space to another student and require you to drop the class to avoid a grade of "F."

If Spanish 101 is full, take Portuguese 103. Similar vocabulary, less verb forms. PORT 103 is 6 credits/hybrid; 3 hours in class + 3 hours online; finish 1 year in 1 semester!

Assigned faculty and classrooms may change frequently; check your schedule and posted signs carefully.

The first day of class for all SPAN 101 in-person courses may be at a different location from your regular classroom. Please, check in Laulima and keep an eye on an email from your instructor for the location.
