NOTE: Oceania is a culturally-rich and geophysically-diverse region that encompasses a sea of approximately 25,000 islands, one fourth of the world's languages, and one-third of the earth's surface. We explore this region of the Pacific Ocean from the ancient Austronesian-speaking voyagers that called it home to their present day descendants living in diaspora in the Pacific Rim. This course counts as an HAP-focus AND a Writing Intensive focus towards all Associate of Arts Degrees at Leeward Community College and transfers to all participating campuses in the UH system.
