This is a HYBRID CLASS designated for Early College students at Kapa'a High School. Prereq: Qualified for ENG 100. Recommended Preparation: Ability to swim in the ocean, spend a full day outdoors, and some familiarity with ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi. Instruction will be conducted primarily face-to-face (F2F), with multiple required field trips and some asynchronous instruction. For field trips, students will meet at the Kapa'a High School campus. All students must complete, sign, and submit the KCC Consent, Waiver, Release, and Indemnity Agreement before participating in this class. This section of HWST 177 is a HYBRID ACCELERATED CLASS and designated for Early College students at Kapa'a High School. Instruction will be conducted face-to-face (F2F) during the week of July 8 through 12, and then continue asynchronously online until July 19. During the F2F portion of the course, students will meet at the Kapa'a High School campus. Five field trips to visit each moku on Kaua'i (Kona, Puna, Koʻolau, Haleleʻa, and Napali) are a required part of the course during the first week of instruction, including a trip up the Napali Coast via boat. All students must complete, sign, and submit the KCC Consent, Waiver, Release, and Indemnity Agreement before participating in this class.
