This section of ART 112 is fully ASYNCHRONOUS ONLINE: students are NOT required to meet with each other and/or the instructor at a specific time. This modality requires extensive writing in the form of weekly research and technical essays. Students MUST have regular use of a stable Apple iMac or Apple MacBook Pro computer with at least 16GB of RAM and 1TB of internal, hard drive storage space (a Chromebook, iPad, or PC will NOT substitute for an Apple MacBook Pro or iMac), and use their UH hawaii.edu e-mail account to participate in this class. Reliable internet access is essential. In addition, students must have regular use of the following equipment and software for this course: (1) Annual subscription of Adobe Creative Cloud software for Apple iMac or Apple MacBook Pro (No other software applications will substitute for Adobe Creative Cloud for this course. The Adobe software must be for a computer, NOT for a mobile device or iPad); (2) iPhone, DSLR, or mirrorless camera with still photo and video recording capability, and (3) AKAI MP3 Mini MIDI Keyboard Controller. Students will need to install Open Source software onto their Apple computer, including OBS and other free applications.
