Kilo Hoku- Star Gazing Culture: This course will focus on identifying the celestial beings (stars, planets, sun, moon, etc.) used by ancient and modern Hawaiian mariners in navigation.
This is a four-session class held on Friday 2/19, Saturday 2/20, Friday 2/26, and Saturday 2/27 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. Classes will be held at Palamanui and various sites. This class will participate in the campus wide OneThemeOneCollege 'Aina (land) Project.

Students should expect to participate in a huaka'i (March 21-25). Attendance on huaka`i is mandatory for successful completion of the course. Noho Honua: This course requires full-body ambulation. It is delivered within a traditional learning environment that requires learners to sit on the floor. Learners must be able to rise from a sitting position without injury to self. Accommodations may be made for table and chairs for those with documented physical needs. Estimated cost for supplies, resources and materials required for the class: $100
