Music (MUS)

Students registered in ALL MUSIC COURSES must attend the first class meeting. Failure to do so without prior arrangements/approval of the instructor may result in the assignment of your space to another student and require you to drop the class to avoid a grade of "F."

Applied Music (private) instruction courses are not printed in the Schedule of Classes, however, they are available in western and non-western traditions at various levels of advancement to be determined by audition, and then assigned by the department chairperson. Music majors enrolling in any of these courses are required to attend lab sessions on Tuesdays or Thursdays. Students must be registered for Applied Music by the first week of the semester. All students (Music majors, minors and non-majors) must obtain a permission slip from the instructor and/or undergraduate chair or department chair before proceeding to the Music Office to obtain the Course Reference Number (CRN). Once you have received your permission slip, you may pick up the CRN for the Applied Music course(s) from the Music Office during these dates only:
